Special Times

Over the last few weeks we have been very busy attending a wedding and also welcoming a new grandson into our family.  So in honour of my newest grandson and the wedding of my youngest son I would like to share some of my favourite quotes; first for my new Grandson.

Samuel Joeph McKenzie2

Day Old Child

My day old child lay in my arms

With my lips against his ear

I whispered strongly, how I wish. . . . .

I wish that you could hear.

I’ve a hundred wonderful things to say

(a tiny cough and a nod)

Hurry, hurry, hurry and grow

So I can tell you about God

My day old baby’s mouth was still

And my words tinkled his ear,

But a kind of light passed through his eyes

And I saw this thought appear.

How I wish I had a voice and words;

I’ve a hundred things to say

Before I forget, I’d tell of God. . . .

I left him yesterday.

And now some thoughts in relation to marriage; for my son and his wife.

The thing that counts most in the pursuit of happiness is the right travelling companion.

  My son has found his travelling compnaion.

Men and women are what happened to little boys and girls.

   And from one of my favorite stage show and movie; I liked both versions.

Is this the little girl I carried?

Is this the little boy at play?

I don’t remember growing older –

When did they?

Sunrise Sunset, Sunrise sunset

Swiftly fly the years,

One season following another

Laden with happiness and tears.

  Very important in a marriage relationship.

Let every husband stay a true lover, and every wife a sweetheart too.

And one of my personal favourites;

It’s a myth that brides blush.  Actually their faces are just flushed with victory.

And one more: and one which is so true.

Marriage; the best method ever, to become acquainted.
